   1. Where do I register to vote?
Residents can obtain forms to register by mail at the City Hall, Monday - Friday, between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Immediate registration to vote can be done in person at the Grays Harbor County Auditor, Court House Annex, Montesano, Washington.
   2. Where is the City Hall and what are the office hours?
Located at 1300 1st Street, the corner of D Street, City Hall is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday except holidays.
   3. How can I vote absentee?
Applications for an absentee ballot may be obtained either by phoning the Grays Harbor County Auditor at 249-4121 or by visiting the Clerk's office at City Hall Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
   4. Who do I contact to arrange public utility services?
Water and sewer service – Cosmopolis Clerk's Office at (360) 532-9230
Garbage Service – LeMay Enterprises at (360) 533-1251
Electrical service – call Grays Harbor Public Utility District No. 1 at (360) 532-4220
   5. Who do I contact to find out about garbage and recycling pick-up?
LeMay Enterprises (360) 533-1251 operates the garbage collection and disposal service. They also have information on recycling at curb-side and at their facility and also operate a hazardous waste disposal site.
   6. When does one need a building permit?
Most anything that is a structural change, requires a building permit. Permits are required for the following types of construction: additions, plumbing alterations, fences, new buildings, signs, lawn sprinkler systems, electrical alterations (see Dept. of Labor & Industry for electrical permits), decks, driveways, roofs, fireplaces, relocation of structures, site development and swimming pools.
   7. Where do I obtain a building permit?
Building Permit Applications may be obtained at City Hall, 1300 1st Street.
   8. How do I pay a citation or parking ticket?
Citation and Parking tickets may be paid at the Police Department on weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m. or by contacting the Court Clerk at (360) 532-9264. You can pay your ticket or file an appeal. Read the instructions on the back of the ticket for more information or call the Court Clerk at the number listed above.
   9. Who are the major employers in town?

   10. If I am planning on opening a business, what must I do?
You must first apply at City Hall for New Tenant Occupancy. Once approval is given and a Certificate of Occupancy issued, you may apply at the Clerk's Office to obtain your business license.
